 Achieving
our best figure to date - 5500 over both nights, MIJF
2008 has hit the right note yet again despite the unwelcome
sporadic rain and wind.
On behalf of my hard working committee members,
fellow colleagues of Sarawak Tourism Board and volunteers,
I say 'A BIG THANK YOU' for your ardent support.
To our partners; Celcom, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry
of Urban Development and Tourism, Tourism Malaysia,
Shell, HSBC, Tourism Malaysia, Astro, MASWings, Park
City Everly Hotel, Heineken and Water Genesis, thank
you for your contributions and shared vision in making
the festival happened.
To our friends in the media, a big hand for carrying
our objectives to the general public.
We also remember the performers who brought their special
brand of music to the shores of Sarawak. We enjoyed
being your host.
Our appreciation also goes to the respective government
agencies for their assistance rendered. They are; The
Resident Office, Miri Division, Miri City Council, Ministry
of Health, The Chief Minister's Office, Royal Custom
and Excise Department, Malaysia Airport Berhad (Miri)
and the Immigration Department.
In supporting our objective of promoting tourism via
the arts, we would like to thank the various hotels
and tour operators for packaging their products and
services with the festival.
Last but not least, to the vendors and contractors,
thank you for ensuring that the standard of the festival
is upkeep.
So here's looking forward to another great festival
come May 8-9th May, 2009!
